Ahhh Valentine’s Day! What other day of the year can make Superman, Sponge Bob, and Fun Dip romantic? Well… at least that is what we thought was romance in elementary school. As we traded valentine’s with our friends and “sweethearts” as young children, we never would have guessed how much Valentine’s Day would someday mean to us. It was four years ago on Valentine’s Day that I proposed to Elizabeth. I had a whole day and evening planned that included dinner at Elizabeth’s (a restaurant near Bucknell), a blindfold, chocolate covered strawberries, a jacuzzi, an engagement ring and hopefully the answer “yes.” Every Valentine’s Day we are reminded of this romantic evening… so while reminiscing this year, we got out the scrapbooks! Below is a poem and card I sent to Elizabeth to get her excited for the upcoming events.
OK, so it wasn’t the best poem ever but at least I tried =). As you probably already figured out, she said yes! Elizabeth could hardly contain her excitement and by the end of the evening she couldn’t wait to share the news with everyone she knew! The next day she wrote the following in her journal:
Who would have known that the Valentine as “simple” as the Superman Card that read “Let me be your Hero” would someday become an engagement ring and would say “Will you marry me”.
To congratulate all of the newly engaged Valentine’s Love Birds that will also cherish February 14th just a little more each year, and to announce our new album options, we would like to “propose” a special offer.
